Mauldin Content, Inc., is the planning and communications consultancy of Chelsea Mauldin.

SERVICES

Chelsea assists public-sector clients with strategic and design policy. As an editor, information architect, and urban planner, she translates complex policy considerations into communications and public spaces that are engaging and easy to use.

PROJECTS

Recent projects include evaluations of Medicare enrollment communications for the the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; a redesign of beneficiary benefits notices, also for Medicare; and editorial advising for the New York City Department of Transportation’s Street Design Manual.

Other design-policy projects with public agencies include Roads Forward, a strategic vision for the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission; a survey of innovative municipal environmental programs, Sustainable NYC; and the NYC Department of Design & Construction's High Performance Infrastructure Guidelines — all published by the Design Trust for Public Space.

BIO

Chelsea has offered consulting services through Mauldin Content since 1999. In addition, she is now the executive director of the Public Policy Lab, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to improve the delivery of public services, and the publisher of a related blog, Policy x Design. Chelsea is also a founding member of the Public Design Lab, a network of communications firms that assist government agencies.

Previously, she served as executive director of the Montague Street BID, a community organization devoted to economic development and urban design; and as deputy director of the Design Trust for Public Space, a nonprofit that brings together public agencies and urban designers.

Chelsea received her MSc in city design and social science from the London School of Economics. Her BA in English and social science was awarded by the University of California at Berkeley.
